Winter running essentials – budget fashion buys

Winter is coming in Australia and it’s time to layer up on our runs.
Let’s face it, we are all conscious of our spending habits and avoiding time browsing in shops. So I’ve pulled together my favourite winter items available from down-market department stores. All in budget and quick & easy to get with click to collect, online or instore.

Kmart – Active Women’s 1/4 Zip Windbreaker Jacket – Khaki $25.00
Every winter running wardrobe needs a windbreaker. Protecting you from wind and rain, the windbreak is light enough to tie around your waist once you have warmed up.

Big W – Circuit Women’s Animal Print Seamless Legging – Navy $15
Finding the right running leggings is important as some can start moving down as you go. Seamless leggings are a great option for staying power and comfort.

Kmart – Active Everlast Women’s Power Crop Top $15
The longer style crop adds a little extra coverage and comes in this cute floral pattern with the perfect winter tones.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19 Colour 450 $169.95
Running shoes should be your wardrobe splurge. There are plenty of online sales as the brand sells out of their old models to make way for their new ones. I recommend black shoes in winter to hide the dirt and mud.

Target – Active Fleece Hoodie Jumper – Pink Marle $25
I love getting into zippered hoodies after a run. They’re easier to get on and off and the hood adds extra warmth while enjoying the post-run coffee.

Kmart – Gym Bum Bag Endure $8.00
The right size for holding phone, keys and nutrition during your run.

Rubi – Kaia Cap $12.99
Running in a cap keeps some of the heat in during winter, while not getting too hot like a beanie does. Also keeps out the sun on those beautiful winter days.

Bunnings – Energizer 100 Lumens Vision Headlight Torch Speciality Torches $15.98
The days are shorter and running in the dark can be dangerous. Adding a torch from Energizer’s range can help with safety, preventing injuries and light up your path.
